IOSCO-Wharton Online FinTech Course: Financial Technologies and Regulatory Implications
IOSCO, in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has developed a new IOSCO NEXTGEN capacity building program: the IOSCO-Wharton Online FinTech Course: Financial Technologies and Regulatory Implications.
This is a foundational course tailored to financial market regulators and exclusively offered to staff at all levels from IOSCO member organizations that seek to enhance their knowledge about the foundations of financial technologies and the related implications for financial markets regulation. Machine-Assisted Capacity Building Tool for Standards Implementation (‘MASI’) in collaboration with Cambridge University
IOSCO, in collaboration with Cambridge University, developed a Machine-Assisted Capacity Building Tool for Standards Implementation (‘MASI’). This online platform is an AI-driven capacity-building tool intended to support self-assessments against the IOSCO Principles and to facilitate comparisons with other regulatory frameworks. It is best suited to the needs of policy analysis and regulatory comparison. It should however not be regarded as an assessment tool for central evaluation of standards implementation. IOSCO-World Bank Workshop on Sustainability Reporting Adoption Roadmaps for Growth and Emerging Markets, Rabat, Morocco, 4-5 June 2025
IOSCO is collaborating with the World Bank to assist with the sustainability reporting adoption plans of jurisdictions, which will involve dialogue and consultation with national stakeholders and more strategic jurisdictional decisions. This program is targeted at IOSCO´s Growth and Emerging Market (GEM) membership and rolled out throughout the various regions with selected member jurisdictions. It is part of IOSCO´s capacity building program for corporate sustainability reporting to assist its members on their journeys towards adoption and implementation of the ISSB Standards, which is a key support mechanism for the GEMC Network for the Adoption and Other Use of ISSB Standards.
Building on the earlier IOSCO-World Bank Workshops that have been held in the various regions, this workshop is targeted at GEM members in the Africa/Middle-East region, and will be hosted by the AMMC Morocco in Rabat, Morocco, on 4-5 June 2025. For all details, please visit the Members Area.

9th IOSCO-PIFS-Harvard Law School Global Certificate Program for Regulators of Securities Markets – Phase I, Madrid, Spain, 23-27 June 2025
IOSCO and the Program on International Financial Systems and Harvard Law School (PIFS-HLS) jointly developed this two-phase program to offer IOSCO members an executive education program that is exclusively tailored for regulators of securities markets. Attendees have up to three years to complete both phases of the Global Certificate Program. Successful attendees will be awarded a joint certificate of participation issued by IOSCO and PIFS-Harvard Law School. Also, IOSCO members may attend any part of the program on a non-certificate basis. This year marks the 9th edition of the program which was inaugurated in 2016.
Phase I, hosted by IOSCO, consists of the following components: online learning materials and a one week-long in-person module on regulation and compliance. The in-person module will be conducted at IOSCO´s premises in Madrid (Spain) from 23-27 June 2025 and will cover the fundamentals and intricacies of securities regulation and compliance and related current critical issues. These sessions will be delivered primarily by current or former securities regulators.
Phase II, hosted by PIFS-HLS, consists of a one week-long in-person module that will be conducted on campus at the Harvard Law School in Cambridge (Massachusetts, US) from 8-12 December 2025 (TBC). This one week-long session will examine current and future regulatory challenges and emerging issues and will be delivered by leading academics, securities regulators and public policy makers.
While any IOSCO member employee may attend the program, it is specifically designed for regulatory staff with strong leadership potential and approximately five to seven years of regulatory experience.

IOSCO-ICMA Workshop: Building Resilient and Efficient Corporate Bond Markets in Growth and Emerging Markets, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 8 July 2025
IOSCO and the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) are organizing a Workshop on Building Resilient and Efficient Corporate Bond Markets in Growth and Emerging Markets. In this training workshop, participants from growth and emerging markets will be equipped with the knowledge to develop an appropriate framework for resilient and efficient corporate bond markets activity in their jurisdictions. Toronto Centre-IOSCO Risk Based Supervision Program for Securities Regulators from Asia Pacific, Virtual, 29 September - 3 October 2025
Together with the Toronto Centre, IOSCO has developed a virtual training program on risk-based supervision targeted at securities regulators from growth and emerging markets in the Asia Pacific region. This program builds on the success of previous programs for securities regulators in the Africa and Middle East region, the Inter-American region and the European region. The virtual program is offered on a complimentary basis to IOSCO growth and emerging market members from the Asia Pacific region and will run between 29 September – 3 October 2025. The Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and IOSCO are jointly organizing their annual Conference at the BIS in Basel, Switzerland, on 25 and 26 November 2025. This Conference, which is intended for bank supervisors and securities regulators, marks the twentieth year that FSI and IOSCO are organizing this important joint program.
